Andrej Kramarić fires TSG Hoffenheim to victory with hat-trick against Holstein Kiel
Andrej Kramarić was the standout performer for TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. The Croatian striker completed a hat-trick against Holstein Kiel to send his side to a 3-2 victory. Holstein Kiel made it an nervy finish through goals from Alexander Bernhardsson and Shuto Machino, but the three points stayed with Hoffenheim.
Kramarić opens the scoring early from the spot
TSG Hoffenheim made a strong start to the match and took control from the very beginning. After just six minutes, Andrej Kramarić opened the scoring for the hosts, calmly converting a penalty to put Hoffenheim ahead: 1-0.
Bülter sets up second goal
The Hoffenheim attack continued to pose a threat, and in the 37th minute Kramarić struck again. This time it was Marius Bülter who provided the assist, with Kramarić finishing coolly to extend the lead to 2-0. The hosts headed into half-time with a comfortable advantage.
Holstein Kiel pull one back
After the break, Holstein Kiel refused to go quietly. In the 63rd minute, Alexander Bernhardsson brought his side back into the contest. Bernhardsson capitalised on an assist from Finn Porath to make it 2-1, injecting fresh tension into the match.
Kramarić completes hat-trick as Kiel go down to ten men
TSG Hoffenheim responded to the goal quickly, however. Andrej Kramarić netted his third of the evening to complete his hat-trick: 3-1. Holstein Kiel's situation worsened further in the 82nd minute when Andu Yobel Kelati was shown a red card.
Machino makes it 3-2 in the dying moments
Despite being a man down, Holstein Kiel managed to score in the closing stages. With just one minute remaining, Shuto Machino — assisted by Nicolai Remberg — reduced the deficit to 3-2. A full comeback was beyond them, though, and Hoffenheim held on to take all three points.
Next Bundesliga fixtures on the horizon
TSG Hoffenheim continue their Bundesliga campaign on 31 August with an away trip to Eintracht Frankfurt, followed by a home fixture on 14 September and an away match at FC Union Berlin on 21 September. Holstein Kiel host VfL Wolfsburg on 31 August, welcome FC Bayern München on 14 September, and travel to VfL Bochum 1848 on 21 September.
