Celta de Vigo come from behind to beat Deportivo Alavés 2-1 in La Liga

Celta de Vigo turned around a dramatic La Liga clash at home against Deportivo Alavés to win 2-1. The Galicians recovered from an early deficit thanks to goals from W. Swedberg and Iago Aspas.
Early Kike García goal sets the tone
It was a difficult start for Celta de Vigo. As early as the 17th minute, Kike García broke the deadlock for Deportivo Alavés, assisted by Antonio Blanco. For long stretches, the visitors looked on course for a deserved away victory in Vigo.
Swedberg brings Celta back into the game
The turnaround began in the 66th minute. W. Swedberg pulled Celta level, with Hugo Álvarez providing the decisive pass. With just over twenty minutes still to play, the match was suddenly wide open again.
Aspas seals the three points for Celta de Vigo
With six minutes left on the clock, it was Iago Aspas who had the final say. The captain and club icon completed the comeback with the winning goal to make it 2-1, assisted by none other than Swedberg, who was thus involved in both the equaliser and the winner.
Next La Liga fixtures for both clubs
Celta de Vigo continue their La Liga campaign with a home game against Valencia on 23 August, followed by away fixtures at Villarreal on 26 August and Osasuna on 1 September. Deportivo Alavés host Real Betis on 25 August, then travel to Real Sociedad on 28 August before wrapping up the period with a home match against Las Palmas on 1 September.
