Feyenoord humiliate PEC Zwolle 5-1: Gimenez scores twice in Eredivisie thriller

Feyenoord produced a commanding performance against PEC Zwolle on Sunday in the Eredivisie. At the MAC³PARK Stadion, the Rotterdam giants ran out convincing 5-1 winners, with Santiago Gimenez netting twice and Calvin Stengs playing a decisive role as provider.
Early lead thanks to Igor Paixão
Feyenoord wasted no time in Zwolle. As early as the fourth minute, Igor Paixão opened the scoring with an assist from Hugo Bueno. The hosts had barely recovered from the early blow as the visitors maintained a relentless tempo throughout.
Calvin Stengs orchestrates the attack after the break
Feyenoord picked up right where they left off after the interval. Calvin Stengs got on the scoresheet himself to make it 2-0 before proving his value as a creator. In the 51st minute, Dávid Hancko converted an assist from Stengs to extend the lead to 3-0, putting PEC Zwolle firmly out of contention.
Gimenez seals the deal with a brace
Santiago Gimenez then took centre stage. The Mexican striker extended the lead in the 68th minute after an assist from Gjivai Zechiël, and struck again just three minutes later on a pass from Calvin Stengs. With the scoreline at 5-0, the match had long been decided before Filip Krastev pulled one back for PEC Zwolle to set the final score at 5-1.
