Go Ahead Eagles beat RKC Waalwijk 2-0 to keep a clean sheet

Go Ahead Eagles settled their Eredivisie account with RKC Waalwijk, running out 2-0 winners at De Adelaarshorst in a dominant display that featured two goals and a clean sheet. Bobby Adekanye broke the deadlock early on, before Finn Stokkers wrapped up the points.

Early advantage through Adekanye

Go Ahead Eagles made an immediate impression on home soil in Deventer. As early as the third minute the deadlock was broken: Bobby Adekanye finished off an assist from Finn Stokkers to put his side ahead almost straight from kick-off. The early goal handed Go Ahead Eagles control of the match from the outset.

RKC Waalwijk reduced to ten men early on

The home side's task became even easier when RKC Waalwijk were reduced to ten men as early as the 17th minute. Yassin Oukili was shown a red card, leaving the visitors a man short for the remainder of the match and making an already difficult afternoon considerably harder for RKC.

Stokkers settles the contest

In the second half, Go Ahead Eagles put the result beyond all doubt. Finn Stokkers, who had earlier provided the assist for the opening goal, this time got on the scoresheet himself in the 60th minute to make it 2-0. The strike secured the victory for the hosts while also preserving the clean sheet.
