Las Palmas and Sevilla share the spoils after spectacular 2-2 draw
Las Palmas and Sevilla could not be separated in La Liga, playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw in which both sides scored twice through own goals and strikes from Juanlu Sánchez and Sandro Ramírez.
Own goals dominate the first half
It was a peculiar opening half on Gran Canaria. Sevilla took the lead after 25 minutes thanks to a Las Palmas own goal. The hosts, however, refused to be discouraged and levelled before the break through an own goal of their own, this time in Las Palmas' favour, in the 42nd minute.

After the interval, Sevilla seized the initiative once more. In the 61st minute, Juanlu Sánchez made it 1-2, assisted by Isaac Romero. Las Palmas refused to give up, however, and drew level ten minutes later: Sandro Ramírez equalised in the 71st minute, with an assist from Javier Muñoz. The final score remained 2-2.
Next fixtures for both clubs
Las Palmas continue their La Liga campaign with home matches against Leganés on 25 August and Real Madrid on 29 August, followed by an away trip to Deportivo Alavés on 1 September. Sevilla face Villarreal on 23 August, take on Mallorca on 27 August, and welcome Girona to their stadium on 1 September.
