Lazio beat Venezia 3-1 in convincing Serie A clash

Lazio claimed a 3-1 home victory over Venezia in Serie A. The Romans fell behind early but responded strongly, with goals from Taty Castellanos and Mattia Zaccagni steering them to a comfortable win.
Venezia strike first, but Lazio hit back quickly
It was Venezia who made the stronger start in Rome, catching the hosts off guard. As early as the third minute, Magnus Kofod Andersen beat the Lazio goalkeeper, assisted by Mikael Egill Ellertsson. The early setback did little to unsettle the home side, however. Lazio responded swiftly, with Taty Castellanos restoring parity in the eleventh minute to make it 1-1.
Zaccagni settles it before the break
Shortly before half-time, Mattia Zaccagni converted a penalty to put Lazio ahead at 2-1. The hosts took that lead into the dressing room, firmly in control of the contest. Their dominance was plain to see, and Venezia were unable to find an equaliser before the interval.
Own goal completes the victory
Lazio maintained their grip on proceedings in the second half. In the 81st minute, an own goal sealed the result and brought the final score to 3-1. A deserved and polished closing stage for the Romans, who gave Venezia no opportunity for a comeback.
Looking ahead: busy schedules for both sides
Lazio continue their Serie A campaign with an away fixture at Udinese on 24 August, followed by a home match on 31 August and a home game against Hellas Verona on 15 September. Venezia also face a packed schedule: the club travel to Fiorentina on 25 August, host Torino on 30 August, and visit Milan on 15 September.
