NEC makes club history: third place in Eredivisie and Champions League qualifying spot

NEC Nijmegen has made sporting history by finishing third in the Eredivisie, the highest position ever achieved in the club's history. Thanks to a 2-1 victory over Go Ahead Eagles, the Nijmegen side secured a place in the Champions League qualifying rounds. In addition, a car belonging to Feyenoord supporters was badly damaged in what is believed to have been a confrontation with Ajax fans in a car park along the A28 near Putten.

NEC reaches highest ever Eredivisie finish

NEC Nijmegen has achieved a milestone the club has never reached before. By defeating Go Ahead Eagles 2-1, NEC ended the Eredivisie season in third place — the highest final position in the club's history. As a result of this achievement, NEC will compete in the Champions League qualifying rounds next season. The players celebrated the historic feat exuberantly.

Suspected confrontation between Ajax and Feyenoord supporters near Putten

A car belonging to Feyenoord supporters was badly damaged by fire on Sunday afternoon in a car park along the A28 near Putten. The incident was reportedly preceded by a confrontation with Ajax fans. Footage of the incident is being shared in the Facebook group Voetbal Ultras. It is not yet known whether there were any injuries or whether police were able to intervene.
