Osasuna beat Mallorca 1-0: Rubén García decides tie in second half

García nets the only goal in the second half
The La Liga clash between Osasuna and Mallorca was a frustratingly even affair in the opening 45 minutes. Neither side could find the net, and the teams went in level at 0-0 at the break. It took until the second half for the deadlock to be broken: Rubén García fired Osasuna ahead in the 55th minute, and that goal ultimately proved enough to secure all three points. Mallorca were unable to turn the tide, and the final score remained 1-0.
Osasuna climb the La Liga table
The victory gives Osasuna their first win of the current La Liga season. The Pamplona club now sit on four points after two matchdays. Mallorca, by contrast, have taken just one point from their two matches and find themselves in a less comfortable position in the standings.
Busy schedule on the horizon
Both clubs face a demanding run of fixtures in the coming weeks. Osasuna take on Girona on 29 August, host Celta de Vigo on 1 September, and travel to Rayo Vallecano on 15 September. Mallorca also have little time to draw breath: the Balearic side face Sevilla on 27 August, Leganés on 31 August, and welcome Villarreal at home on 15 September.
