Pinamonti earns Genoa their first win of the season against Monza
Andrea Pinamonti was the match-winner for Genoa in Serie A: with a goal just before half-time, assisted by Stefano Sabelli, the club defeated Monza 1-0 away from home. Genoa claim their first victory of the season and move onto four points after two matchdays. Monza sit on just one point after two matches.

The only goal of the match came in first-half stoppage time. Andrea Pinamonti put Genoa ahead after an assist from Stefano Sabelli, and that strike ultimately proved enough to secure all three points. Monza failed to find an equaliser in the second half, leaving Genoa to seal a 1-0 away victory.
Serie A standings after two matchdays
Thanks to this win, Genoa have collected four points from two league matches and are finally on the winners' list for the season. Monza remain on one point from two games and have yet to register their first victory.
Upcoming fixtures for both clubs
Monza already have their next Serie A appointments in the diary: on 1 September they travel to Fiorentina, on 15 September they host Monza at home, and on 22 September Bologna come to town. Genoa have their own schedule ahead: on 1 September Hellas Verona visit, on 15 September Roma are the opponents at home, and on 22 September the club round off the month with an away fixture against Venezia.
