PSV overturn deficit to claim 3-1 victory at Heracles Almelo

PSV came through a difficult away fixture against Heracles Almelo in the Eredivisie to take all three points. The Eindhoven side fell behind early but turned the game completely around, ultimately winning 3-1.
Early penalty puts Heracles in front
Things went wrong for PSV almost immediately in Almelo. Brian De Keersmaecker put Heracles Almelo ahead from the spot as early as the fifth minute, a concession that left PSV with an uphill battle in this Eredivisie away game.
Own goal draws PSV level
After the break, PSV were handed an equaliser. In the 52nd minute, the ball found its way into the net via a Heracles own goal, making it 1-1 and bringing PSV right back into the contest.
Bakayoko gives PSV the lead
Seven minutes later, PSV struck again. Johan Bakayoko made it 1-2 in the 59th minute, finishing off an assist from Luuk de Jong. PSV had fully turned the match around and led for the first time.
Driouech seals it in stoppage time
In stoppage time, Couhaib Driouech put the result beyond doubt. Assisted by Guus Til, he completed PSV's comeback with the 1-3 and confirmed the victory for good.
Outlook: busy schedule ahead for both clubs
For Heracles Almelo, the upcoming Eredivisie fixtures feature a mix of home and away matches: Willem II visit on 25 August, followed by an away trip to PEC Zwolle on 1 September, before Heracles host Almere City on 15 September. PSV, meanwhile, travel to Almere City on 24 August, welcome Go Ahead Eagles on 1 September, and round off the period at home against NEC on 14 September.
