Serie A sports judge drops racism case between Dossena and Davis

Serie A sports judge Gerardo Mastandrea has closed the case concerning alleged racist remarks made by Cagliari defender Alberto Dossena toward Udinese forward Keinan Davis. The case was dropped due to a lack of conclusive evidence.
Incident in the closing stages of Cagliari vs Udinese
The incident occurred on 9 May during the Serie A match between Cagliari and Udinese in the Sardinian capital Cagliari. In the dying minutes of the game, Davis reported to the referee that he had received discriminatory abuse from Dossena. The Udinese striker later also took to social media to address the incident: 'This cowardly racist called me a monkey during the match. I hope Serie A does something about it, but we'll see.'
No conclusive evidence, case closed
Sports judge Gerardo Mastandrea ultimately decided to drop the case. In his reasoning, he referred to the documentation submitted by the federal prosecutor, which contained no elements that unambiguously established the content of the words Dossena directed at Davis. Without conclusive proof, the sports judge deemed further prosecution unjustified.
