Trenskow rescues a point for SC Heerenveen against FC Utrecht in Eredivisie draw
SC Heerenveen and FC Utrecht played out a 1-1 draw in the Eredivisie. FC Utrecht looked set to claim all three points thanks to an early goal from Ole Romeny, but Jacob Trenskow denied them in the closing stages with a late equaliser.
Romeny strikes after three minutes
FC Utrecht made a flying start to their away fixture at SC Heerenveen. As early as the third minute, Ole Romeny opened the scoring with an assist from Paxten Aaronson. That early goal firmly in their pocket, Utrecht headed into the dressing room at half-time with a 1-0 lead.
Trenskow rescues a point in the closing stages
SC Heerenveen refused to go down without a fight in the second half. With eight minutes remaining, Jacob Trenskow pulled his side level with the equaliser, earning Heerenveen a share of the spoils. The match ultimately finished 1-1.
Next Eredivisie fixtures for both clubs
SC Heerenveen continue their Eredivisie campaign on 25 August with an away fixture against FC Twente, followed by a home match on 31 August and a trip to AZ on 14 September. FC Utrecht travel to NAC Breda on 24 August, host FC Twente on 1 September, and visit Ajax on 15 September.
