Udinese beat Lazio thanks to Lucca and Thauvin: 2-1 in Serie A

Udinese claimed a 2-1 victory over Lazio in Serie A. Lorenzo Lucca and Florian Thauvin were the scorers for the home side at the Dacia Arena. The win gives Udinese their first victory of the season, lifting them to four points, while Lazio have three points after two matchdays.

Early goal sets the tone for Udinese

Udinese made an impression on home soil on Saturday afternoon by defeating Lazio in Serie A. Lorenzo Lucca opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute, assisted by Florian Thauvin. The goal immediately set the tone for the match at the Dacia Arena.

Thauvin doubles the lead after the break

Udinese struck again right after half-time. Florian Thauvin, who had already provided the assist for the opening goal, got on the scoresheet himself to make it 2-0 and put his side in a comfortable position. The French forward was the standout player of the match.

Red card and Lazio's consolation goal in the closing stages

The second half had a dramatic finish. Udinese defender Hassane Kamara was shown a red card in the 68th minute, forcing his side to play out the remainder of the match with ten men. Deep into stoppage time, Gustav Isaksen pulled one back for Lazio to make it 2-1, but a genuine comeback was never on the cards.
